The Independent National Electoral Commission has on Friday hold an Emergency meeting on Friday being the 24th day of May 2019, following the Judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the Governorship, National and State Assembly elections held in Zamfara state.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has Declare that all the vote which was gain by the All Progressive Congress Candidates (APC) in Zamfara State are useless. Saying that the party the All Progressive Congress (APC) did not conduct any party primary Elections and that any party that did not conduct Primary Elections cannot be said to have won any Election at first.
Going base on the statement of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said that the meeting is for the body to determine the next course of action.
He added that the commission is still going to meet on Saturday, being the 25th day of May 2019, to further deliberate on the issues arising from the judgment.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has on Friday, being the 24th day of May 2019 had ruled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) did not hold any valid party primary Elections in Zamfara State as required by law, so there for The Supreme Court of Nigeria held that all the votes scored by the All Progressives Congress (APC)  are ‘wasted votes’.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria also ruled that the candidates of any political parties with the second highest valid votes and the requisite spread should be declared as having been elected and the Winner of the Election respectively.
